The person behind the needle
Hola,
I’m Patou.

Artist, island heart, collector of tiny forms.Living and working in Cologne.

A small introduction
Hello,
my name is Patricia.
I’m Patricia, and I sign my work as Patou. I grew up in a fishing village on Gran Canaria, with the sea close by and the island light all around me. Art took me to Tenerife; life led me through Málaga to Cologne, where I have made my home.
The sea, the shapes of nature and the people I meet still find their way into my work. I am grateful to my family, friends and fellow artists who believed in me along the way. Today I get to do what I love: turn small feelings into lasting lines, one careful dot at a time.
Love, Patou

From island life to handpoke
The long way
to one small dot.
- 1989
Gran Canaria
Patricia grew up with her family in a small fishing village in the south of Gran Canaria, where she lived until she was eighteen.
- 2007
Tenerife
She moved to Tenerife in 2007 to study art. After graduating in 2013, she stayed another year, drawn to the island and the people around her, and worked as a hotel entertainment monitor.
- 2014
Málaga & Cologne
That job took her to Málaga for a few months in 2014. There she met the people who became her family in Germany. By the end of that year, she was living in Cologne. Small jobs and painting exhibitions supported her along the way.
- 2017
The first tattoos
Patou made her first tattoos in 2017. After about a year of practising privately, she joined a studio with Alejandro Borreli and Paula Roesch. Both supported her professional beginnings, and Paula’s delicate style remains an inspiration.
- 2020
Atelier Noir Nu
In 2020 she decided to change her routine and planned to work with Nadine Miegesel and Natalie Pinzauti at Atelier Noir Nu.
- 2021
Tatu Loft
At Tatu Loft in central Cologne, I share the studio with fellow tattoo artists Laura, Kerstin, Jan and Chris. Sarah brings the vintage shop into our shared space.

The studio
A calm place
for brave ideas.
The work begins with listening. There is time to arrive, talk, redraw and find the placement that feels natural. Nothing needs to be rushed.
